Waste not
 Want not

Here you will find some of the many things I make from recycled textiles. I love old scraps of fabric - lace, gingham, homespun linen, and especially wool. My signature textile is a beautiful, thick wool felt which I make by repeatedly washing old sweaters in hot, soapy water.
This process causes the fibers to shrink, to thicken up and become "solid" instead of "knitted." I like to make many different things: hearts, garlands, stars, dolls, make-do pincushions, sewing pockets, pinkeeps, penny rugs, flags, folk art pictures, and so on. I get my inspiration from antiques and folk art; my muse works with me and we put our own style on these objects, so that you sometimes barely recognize their antique roots.
